It’s about that time of year during which people start to ask, “Why am I not meeting my health goals?” With this question in mind, I want to help you define what willpower really is. It’s importance to accept it for what it is. Willpower should be considered a muscle. If you use it too much it will fatigue and eventually lead you to abandon any form of healthy habit you are trying to obtain. Don’t do too much too soon and overuse that muscle.
So, what should you do? Create small steps at first and add on as you go. Go slow. Have patients. It’s about doing better, not being perfect.
